Palaye Royale Series No. 4 | Boom Boom Room

By CA Marshall Photography: Chris Belsito | Vibrant Lifescapes LA Fashion week Video & Photos by Stephanie Rachel “Yesterday Palaye Royale finished just a little bit over a 12-month cycle of living on the road. We have played 225 shows, played a show in every state (besides the Dakotas, Hawaii, & Alaska), drove close to 100,000 miles, blew 2 transmissions, hugged at least 15,000 fans, made some friends and lost some friends. A year of experiences lead to stories that will forever be imbedded into my mind, heart and soul. I am grateful for the Palaye Royale team and family of the Soldiers of the Royal Council – without everyone’s love and respect for us we could not sustain a career of playing music everyday in a new city. Safe to say I am proud and happy, so thank you for being apart of year one. Now currently driving back to Los Angeles from Detroit – will take a week to collect my sanity or completely lose it then, back into the studio to make album two, Boom Room: Side B. Early 2017 Palaye Royale joins Andy Black and William Control on a North American tour to continue another year of caravanning.” The above quote was written by Sebastian Danzig, Guitarist of the Los Angeles based Fashion Art Rock Band Palaye Royale on November 16, 2016. Indeed, it goes without saying that true fans of Palaye Royale would know this band has been insanely busy since launching their album ‘Boom […]

Melany Rowe: Designer

By CA Marshall Photos Courtesy of Melany Rowe “I can make you a fancy coffee with all the beautiful toppings, but please don’t ask me to make you a regular coffee, I would have to get you to make it yourself,” smiled Melany Rowe, Quebec-born Fashion Designer known for her flair of the dramatic and self-proclaimed lover of “all things Glamorous”. In fact, at her Debut Show at Western Canada Fashion Week (WCFW) in Edmonton, Alberta, in the spring of 2013 (where I first met her), the Designer came into the industry with a bang. All of her designs are polished, pretty, and above all: Glamorous. Intricate, hand-sewn beading, chains (yes! Chains!), detailed floral techniques, and feathers, adorn her Bridal & Evening gowns (and accessories!) that would make even Coco Chanel blush. _____________________ Fast forward to the Spring 2016 WCFW runway show for the Designers’ Fall/Winter 2016/17 collection and you can see how Rowe has clearly been evolving as a designer: her collection was one of her most edgy and glamorous yet. Models graced the stage wearing floor length gowns in black, white, cream, and pale pastel covered with intricate beading, delicate ribbon, chain, and pearls, chiffon, brocade, and lace all strategically placed for that elegant-yet-edgy flair notorious to this designer. Models graced the floor to the sounds of her current inspiration, Recording Artists Palaye Royale’s single ‘Morning Light’ thus incorporating the Designers’ desire to combining Glamour and Rock Music with a little bit of edge. ‘The band really has […]

The Fontaines Series No.1

By CA Marshall Photos courtesy of: Hank Fontaine This feature has been strategically a long time in the making. California based (referred to as ‘New-Wop’ band – but we shall get into that later….) ‘The Fontaines’ have been on the Starlight Music Chronicles (SMC) radar since being introduced to their music genius in our December 2015 Artist of the Month competition and I felt that there was no better time than the present to showcase the Brother and Sister duo (Hank and Charlotte) than the present: Spring. Here’s why: The first song I ever listened to by the band that had me at hello was ‘Paul Newman’, which automatically had me envisioning a retro soda shop with couples doing the swing by the jukebox. It was fresh, hip, happening and extremely addictive: everything ‘Spring Fever’ represents. For a lover of fifties/sixties retro tunes this was right up my alley and to be completely honest, there are only two other bands that I have spent more than two consecutive days researching and they are Palaye Royale and New Mayans and here I found myself completely immersed in everything ‘The Fontaines’ for the two day minimum. After listening and observing, I had a sneaking hunch that I was just scratching the surface of ‘The Fontaines’ and it wasn’t until after my interview with Hank that I discovered that this band is on an even deeper level than I had first been impressed upon. Much to my excitement (and original instinct), I am […]

Palaye Royale Series No .2

By CA Marshall Editor | Starlight Music Chronicles When it comes to Canadian Born, Las Vegas based Fashion Art Rock Band Palaye Royale, it’s perfectly fine to name drop. And we’re not talking just the band as an entity, we are talking all of the Fashion and Entertainment Industry Professionals sitting up and taking a serious look at history being made here and wanting to be a part of it. Prominent Profiles such as Kellin Quinn (Frontman for the band Sleeping with Sirens) have begun talks of collaborations on music with the band as of late, The Agency Groups’ Ralph James (see note worthy below) has signed the band following their candid performance at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Ontario, Canada earlier this spring, and Fashion Moniker John Varvatos has also demonstrated his support via fashion ensembles which have become the bands insignia: Fashion Art Rock Band. To be perfectly frank, their trail has cultivated from a ‘dwarf- sized’ star (haven’t they always been stars?) to a blazing comet across the universe and this is no short-term comet either, this one is for the history books.   But how can we be so confident in making this claim though? Proof is in the documented and historical timeline leading up to present day. I have personally written several articles on different Website platforms for Palaye Royale (now based out of Los Angeles, California) and have followed their journey quite closely since February of 2014 when they messaged me via Twitter to […]

Palaye Royale Series No.1

Breaking records and making waves is nothing new to Canadian Born, Las Vegas based Fashion Art Rock Band Palaye Royale. We’ll actually, making records is what they’re into these days and with so many accomplishments under their belt since January of this year, I am not surprised. This is why Starlight Music Chronicles has chosen to run a ‘Spotlight Number Series’ on this trailblazing band which will follow their career chronologically. We have chosen this for many reasons, the main one being: Palaye Royale (comprised of Frontman Remington Leith, Guitarist & Organist Sebastian Danzig, and Drummer Emerson Barrett) is quite literally, The ‘Band of the Century’ for all that they have accomplished to date. (see ‘History’ at the end of this article) On June 19th, 2015, Guitarist Sebastian Danzig stated on Twitter: ‘Pre-production for @PalayeRoyale’s debut album begins in one-hundred hours. Release date will be this year’ (Sebastian Danzig Quote) Later, on June 23rd, The Band stated on their Twitter: ‘We are signing to a record label that allows us to keep the pure intention of our art alive – choosing our vision over the industry’ (Palaye Royale Quote) So suffice to say, the bands progression has been on a faster Carnival merry-go-round these days. Actually, I think twist-and-turn Roller Coaster Thrill Ride at the best Theme Park in the world would be a better summation. I have personally written several articles on different Website platforms for Palaye Royale (now based out of Los Angeles, California) and have followed their journey quite closely since February of 2014 when they messaged me […]
